Thanks to the vote from the Student Representative Council and Senior Prefects, Canterbury Boys High School knew that outdoor fitness equipment was something students definitely wanted.
Armed with a successful grant application and the funds raised by the school, their fitness equipment dream became a reality.
The choice to use a_space was an easy one after Punchbowl Boys High School, who had already installed three of our outdoor fitness pods on their campus, recommended our equipment. Plus, during a conference Principal Belinda Giudice met an a_space expert space planner who was coincidentally an ex-student.
After looking through our website and getting inspiration from the gallery section, Belinda had a_space come to look at the desired installation site. Our knowledgeable staff knew exactly what the school was looking for and gave confident, considerate advice to suit the end user of the equipment.
The school weighed up other providers and chose a_space based on the best value for money proposition. Seeing our Department of Education endorsement, and being able to visit local installation sites thanks to our Fitness Location Map were just extra aspects that provided peace of mind about the safety and quality of the product. On top of that, the word of mouth and reputation of a_space spoke for itself.
With sport and recreation already incredibly important to the school, with both formal and informal physical activities – the gym is now open every lunchtime with staff supervising. During elective and mandatory Physical Education classes and during whole-school Sport, pupils are taught how to use the equipment safely while helping them achieve health and fitness goals.
The equipment has been incredibly well received by both parents and pupils, and even ex-students have said that they wish there had been something like it when they attended the school.
Outdoor fitness equipment in Secondary Schools is becoming increasingly popular. a_space fitness equipment provides a much needed physical challenge or ‘brain break’ to boost blood flow and retain information.
