We design play to be fun but take the science of play seriously. With statistics demonstrating that the level of physical activity for children is falling, the importance of active play is greater than ever. We design school playgrounds to promote the development of strength, balance and co-ordination along with the building of social skills to create healthy, happy students.
As part of a large construction project at the school, we were briefed to propose an innovative play space to keep the upper primary school kids active.
The growth of this popular school created the need for a play space for upper primary students. The challenge was to create a structure to accommodate lots of students in a relatively small footprint which included a recently installed Explorer Net which was to be retained and ideally integrated into the design solution.
Lighthouse Christian College wanted a play solution for students from prep to year 12 on a significant site of over 1,000 square meters.
