What could well be considered ‘the best school playground in Australia’ was recently unveiled at Trinity Grammar School in Kew Victoria.

The project was the culmination of more than 12 months of collaboration with school staff and TCL Landscape Architects. The result is a spectacular structure that not only is visually striking but provides an exciting, inviting an innovative play space for students. Given space constraints, the tower structure, enabled maximum play opportunity to be contained within the limited area.

Dean Joel, a_space’s Managing Director, commented, “This play structure sets a new benchmark for play design in Australia and demonstrates our ability to creatively solve problems, think differently and work collaboratively to create spectacular results.”

This week, a Councillor at Coffs Harbour City Council put forward the idea of a playground for seniors?

Some thought his idea was crazy. What, swings and slides for granny?

Not exactly, the Councillor was putting forward the concept of outdoor gyms accessible to seniors as a means of getting seniors in the community more active. As the Councillor put it, “As we are all getting older and in our turn becoming seniors, shouldn’t we desire that these seniors remain as healthy as they can, as flexible and as self-reliant as possible?”
