Council wanted a play space that would blend in with the spectacular natural surroundings while appealing to children across a range of ages. The play space needed to inspire, challenge, and promote physical activity. Care needed to be taken in placement of equipment to protect the mature trees under which the play space would be located.
The proposed design incorporated two distinct play units. One specifically for younger children and strategically placed nearest to the shelter / table area promoting surveillance and safety. The other unit was designed for older children with both spiral and curved slides, multiple climbing events and interactive panels to provide a stimulating and energising space. The site was terraced to accommodate the fall of the site and bordered with attractive sandstone blocks to create an attractive landscape.
Council are thrilled with the result, visitation to the site has been significant and the smiles and laughter of the children using the equipment speaks volumes!
