The local council had acquired two blocks of land with the intention of creating a new playground space. The goal was to develop an All Abilities Playspace, utilising the area to promote inclusivity and cater to children of all abilities, while also creating a space for the community.
Our proposal was to create a Playspace to create an immersive outdoor environment that celebrates nature and provides engaging play opportunities for children of diverse abilities. The playspace would incorporate natural elements such as timber panels and native flora images, alongside an inclusive play structure, sensory spaces, and accessible pathways.
The All Abilities Playspace has injected vitality into the area, repurposing the former housing sites into a vibrant space where children can connect with nature and explore their surroundings. Its inclusive design ensures that all children, regardless of ability, can participate in play activities and enjoy the benefits of outdoor play. The council is delighted with the positive impact the playspace has had on the neighbourhood and its residents.
