Australia’s first Lifeguard Tower Playground

We are delighted to have played a major role in the launch of a new benchmark playground at Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club in Queensland.

The playground was designed, manufactured and installed by a_space.

The Lifeguard Tower theme allows children to emulate their heroes stationed at the real Lifeguard tower only metres away. Apart from delivering lots of fun through a range of play events including the ‘Beach Maze’, it provides surf safety education through messages engraved in panels across the playground.

And Now Playground for Seniors?

This week, a Councillor at Coffs Harbour City Council put forward the idea of a playground for seniors?

Some thought his idea was crazy. What, swings and slides for granny?

Not exactly, the Councillor was putting forward the concept of outdoor gyms accessible to seniors as a means of getting seniors in the community more active. As the Councillor put it, “As we are all getting older and in our turn becoming seniors, shouldn’t we desire that these seniors remain as healthy as they can, as flexible and as self-reliant as possible?”
