Council’s brief was to create an innovative outdoor exercise space to engage the local community. The design needed to accommodate an existing tight envelope while offering a variety of items to suit users of different ages and fitness levels. Importantly, the equipment needed to be robust and constructed from appropriate materials to withstand the local coastal conditions.
Single sided Fit for Parks units were utilised to best fit the narrow nature of the site. The equipment selected represented a full body workout for the general community, ensuring that most demographics were catered for.
The implemented design integrates sympathetically into the local environment. The blend of equipment offering opportunities to develop cardio fitness, strength as well as enhancing mobility has been well received and is being well used.
