We’re passionate about community play and fitness.
Since our beginning in 1995 we’ve been dedicated to bringing a bigger buzz to communities through great products and great service. We’re passionate about enhancing community play and fitness, and in doing so combating the disturbing obesity and sedentary lifestyle trends afflicting our nation. Along the journey we’ve grown in size and sophistication to become an industry leader. We’ve never let go of what’s important; the delivery of great experiences for the children using our play equipment, for adults using our fitness equipment and for clients enjoying well run projects with ongoing support.
We’re proud to remain a viable, quality Australian manufacturer. Apart from supporting many Australian families through employment, our customers can take comfort in dealing direct with the source; meaning no excuses and no delays.
Quality is a way of life in our business and in part is demonstrated through our commitment to maintaining a certified quality system (lSO9001). We’re humbled by our accreditations from many of Australia’s largest councils and buying groups (LGP, Local Buy, MAV, etc.). These accreditations offer further evidence that we deliver what we promise.
Sustainability and corporate responsibility are key ingredients at a_space. We strive toward utilisation of materials and business practices to reduce our environmental impact. And we participate regularly in initiatives that enhance the lives of those less fortunate.

With our quality certification (ISO9001) which includes a focus on continuous improvement we are proud to have been recognised as a finalist in the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards for the last two years.
Apart from the satisfaction of supporting Australian jobs and being able to exercise our passion combining the arts of design and engineering, we love being in a position where we have control of every part of the process. For our customers, this means we can offer flexibility of design with short lead times and absolute quality control. And when it comes to support for products ‘after the sale’, as we are the source, we offer quick turn around service and support.
All of the equipment created by a_space is designed to be compliant with the relevant Australian Standards. The main applicable standards include:
- AS4685:2021 Playground equipment and surfacing – General safety requirements and test methods
- AS16630:2021 Permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment – Safety requirements and test methods
