Brisbane City Council recently unveiled the Ferny Grove outdoor gym and obstacle course adding a premium outdoor exercise site to its Active Parks Program.

The combination of the outdoor gym equipment and obstacle course offers diversity to a broad range of users.

The obstacle course is designed to promote agility and strength training aiding in co-ordination and balance while developing upper body and core strength.

The outdoor gym equipment combines dynamic items (i.e. with moving parts) appealing to a wide range of users along with static items comprising a network of bars for advanced strength training.

All equipment installed includes instructional signage with QR codes linking to videos providing added guidance to users.

This unique and innovative exercise space has proven incredibly popular with park visitors.

We are so thrilled that a_space did our school playground. Blackheath School P&C raised enough money to put in play equipment and a_space were really thoughtful and sensitive to our budget. The design, landscaping, project management and installation team were completely professional and approachable through every stage of the process. The children at Blackheath Public School are absolutely thrilled with their new equipment – the teachers can’t keep them off it.

“This project was excellent, ran smoothly, was well coordinated and completed ahead of schedule. A new rubber surface, some new equipment and shade installation has given this playground a great face lift and an extended life”
